Washington D.C., March 26, 2014 –IAM mechanic and related, fleet service, maintenance training specialist and stockroom employees will conduct informational picketing on Thursday March 27, 2014 at Charlotte-Douglas International Airport, Boston’s Logan Airport, Denver International Airport, Philadelphia International Airport and Phoenix’ Sky Harbor Airport, with all five events protesting US Airways’ position that IAM-represented workers at the airline accept second-class status and agree to lower wage rates than other employees at the carrier who perform the same exact work.

Who: IAM–represented mechanic and related, fleet service, maintenance training specialist and stockroom employees at US Airways.

What: Informational picketing.

Why:  To protest US Airways’ position that IAM-represented workers at the airline accept second-class status and agree to lower wage rates than other employees at the carrier who perform the same exact work.

The IAM represents approximately14,000 mechanic and related, fleet service, maintenance training specialist and stockroom employees at pre-merger US Airways, making it the largest union at the airline.
